We live in a time of quick fixes. People will eat anything that says fat free or sugar free, however, just because it says “healthy choice”, doesn’t mean it is. Here are some top ingredients to stay away from because they cause more harm than good to your body.

Splenda

You may think that this is a healthy alternative to sugar, but you are so wrong. There’s nothing natural about this fake sugar, despite the marketing claims it makes.

You’re still putting a manufactured ingredient into your body that can lead to numerous health concerns such as headaches, stomach irritability, and mood changes.

 

Fluoride

Fluoride, which is very often consumed in toothpaste as well as drinking water, can have severely negative impacts on the body. It can lead to severe bone health problems when taken in higher dosages and thyroid impairment.

 

PCBS

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are a group of manufactured organic chemicals that contain 209 individual chlorinated chemicals. They can be found in many areas but the highest levels are found in seas and soils. They are in foods found in waters where fish are. They can contain the highest levels of pcbs. PCB’s are also in the soil.At some contamination sites in Wisconsin, PCB’s have been found in surface soils at levels that must be cleaned up to prevent a health hazard.

 

High Fructose Corn Syrup

High fructose corn syrup is one of the leading causes behind heart disease as well as diabetes so why do we continue to consume this? This ingredient is found in many foods including sauces and condiments, soda, sugary snack foods, as well as many breakfast cereals. Check the ingredient listing and if it contains this put it down and run away.

 

MSG

Finally, MSG, which is found in many canned soups, Chinese food, and many processed snacks. It’s highly toxic and can lead to fatigue, hormone imbalances, as well as brain damage if consumed in high doses.
