Fitness and fun are not usually two words used in the same sentence. Partner workouts can be fun and rewarding with a little creativity. Grab a partner and give some of these exercises a try.
Wheel Barrel – Have your partner get into a pushup position and grab your partner’s ankles so their feet are suspended. Have them hand walk as you hold there legs. Every 5 feet make them do 5 pushups.
Mirror Game – This is where you use your creativity. Your partner has to copy every move you make. Start off with a sprint, then back peddle. Throw in some jumping jacks and burpees. They have to keep up with you.
Superband Sled Pull (pictured) – Take two super bands and put one around each shoulder of your partner, then cross them from the back. Hold on tight to both ends of the superband and let them pull you across the room. Make sure you walk with them but give them some resistance.
Partner Pushup Challenge – Partner one will do as many pushups as they can do while partner two rests. Once partner one finishes, partner two will begin while partner one rests. You will repeat this pattern until both partners can only perform 1-2 reps per turn. How many rounds did you get?
Partner Medicine Ball Slams – Start by standing upright with one partner holding the medicine ball above their head. Stepping forward, slam the medicine ball to the ground bouncing the medicine ball to your partner. Your partner catches and slams the medicine ball back to you. Make sure you keep your abs tight when you slam the ball to the ground. Try this exercise for 30 seconds to a minute.
Try some of these exercises with a partner to bring some excitement and a smile to your next workout.
